One day Kristi Clark and her partner Christopher went out with their young daughters, but they had no idea they would end in the emergency room.
The Scottish couple together with their daughters, Malena three-years-old and Harper three-week-old, left their home as usual. It took them a little longer as it was rush-hour traffic and took them 1 hour and 45 minutes to get home and little Harper was strapped into her car seat as normally. As they got inside, the baby spent 15 other minutes in the car seat while her parent put her sister in bed.
Kirsti said ”When we got home it was way past Malena’s bedtime so we brought Harper in her car seat and she stayed in there for 15 minutes as we got Malena into bed.”My husband got Harper out and put her on his knee but she looked like she couldn’t get comfy so he laid her down on her mat and she was kicking about.”
‘I would tell every parent to just really carefully watch their babies and if they don’t absolutely need to be in the car seat take them out because it is not worth what we had to go through.
‘Watch your baby and know your baby. If something doesn’t seem quite right take them straight to the hospital.’
When they put Harper on the mat her lips because blue, and they thought something was going on because the baby’s jaw was clenched shut and white foam began coming out of her nose and mouth. She was undergoing a seizure. But they were terrified as it didn’t seem like a normal one, Harper was arching her back and hitting her head back. She was taken to the hospital right away where she was resuscitated.
