A child for sure changes your world in diverse ways. What you feel is a pure unconditional love you’ve never felt in your life, and meanwhile hoping that everything will turn out to be the best for your little child.

New mum Sara Heller did not know that she had to go through a lot when she warmly welcomed her first little baby boy named Brady. Having reached the 24-week mark of pregnancy the doctors found out something about the not yet born baby.

The baby’s ultrasound showed that Brody had a grave lip and cleft palate. The gap was from the lip to the nose.

The parents were normally very worried when they saw the scan pictures, but they decided to act totally differently related to the son’s diagnosis.
The doctors told them that this was a very rare condition with just 9 cases in the world.

” They asked us if we wanted to keep the pregnancy ” dad Chris Eidam tells.

But the couple was decided to keep the baby. Sara hoped to change the idea that people have about children with lip and cleft palates.

” It is ok to be proud of your baby no matter the circumstances. We wanted to change what ultrasound /newborn /first-year pictures on our Facebook / Instagram accounts looked like. We wanted to spread awareness of cleft lips and palates, ” the mom explains. Through the second and third month of pregnancy, the fetus’s face evolved and the diverse facial parts grew together.

Every year, around 2.650 newborns in the USA have some kind of lip-, jaw- or cleft palates. With experts trying to understand why this happens, family genetics have a significant role in about one-fifth of the children affected.

The children born with cleft palates usually go through many surgeries and treatments to be able to eat and talk. The baby’s parents couldn’t afford the operation and were decided to alter people’s point of view of lip and cleft palates.

After having uploaded photos of her son Sara got a lot of insentient comments on Instagram. One wrote: What’s wrong with his face? ”Sara wasn’t surprised only about the comment, but she wasn’t ready to be forced to defend her son’s looks while still a baby.

Sara says:” I decided to educate rather than create a confrontation because that is what I want Brody to do in the future, I will want him to educate, to be an advocate for a younger cleft kid who doesn’t have their own voice yet. ”

Nevertheless, there have also been positive encounters.

Sara was having dinner with her friends lately. Sara’s server placed something that seemed like a napkin in her table after they finished their dinner. To her surprise, it was a flattened check.
The mom had a hard time believing that she was given a check of USD $ 1.0000 as well as a note ;
‘ For your beautiful baby ‘
This nice and gracious act moved Sara to tears.
” Tears fell from my eyes immediately and the happiness my heart felt is indescribable, ” she explains.

The gift helped Sara and Chris pay for some of Brody’s healthcare costs.
